After being admitted to legal practice in Canberra in 1999 and working for the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, David worked as a solicitor for the Perth office of the Australian Government Solicitor from 2001 to 2006 focusing on administrative law cases in the federal courts and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal as well as negligence and general litigation in the state courts. David has also worked for a small firm specialising in property law and for the WA Department of Commerce advising on consumer protection matters. David has an interest in legal education and has lectured in the College of Law's legal practice course, and regularly present CPD seminars. In 2011-2012 David acted as a Deputy Registrar of the Federal Court in the WA Registry.
