When called to the Bar in early 2006, Bridie had already enjoyed success in an academic career in International Political Economy at the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. She began her career with Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills) working in the practice groups of Litigation and Intellectual Property.

Bridie was the associate to the Honourable Justice James L. B. Allsop, then a Justice of the Federal Court, subsequently the President of the Court of Appeal of New South Wales, and now the Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia.
Bridie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She appears as counsel in both institutional and ad-hoc domestic and international commercial arbitrations.
Bridie specialises in the areas of commercial equity, property, maritime law, international trade and transportation, insurance and reinsurance, oil and gas, energy, commodities, international finance and banking. Bridie has also worked on all forms of commercial and international disputes, including joint ventures, conflict of laws and jurisdiction disputes.
