Kaminni commenced her career in criminal law in January 2011, when she interned at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the Hague, Netherlands. While there for six months, she was assigned to the Office of the Prosecutor and the case of Prosecutor v. Vojislav Seselj, IT-03-67-T during which time she assisted with work relating to crimes against humanity and war crimes including murder, torture and forced deportation committed in Hrtkovci, Serbia.
In 2012, Kaminni was admitted as a legal practitioner and started out in general private practice. From August 2013, Kaminni worked closely with senior criminal law barrister, Anthony Eyers, on various complex criminal cases, for both prosecution and defence. Among various matters ranging from fraud to drug importation, she has been involved in several murder trials to date and has been led as junior counsel in a number. Kaminni is a member of various Legal Aid WA panels including the duty lawyer panel.
In February 2016, Kaminni joined Equus Chambers, a set of chambers dedicated to advocacy at all levels of criminal litigation for both State and Commonwealth offences. She can act as counsel in Magistrates Court, Children's Court and District Court trials in Perth and country areas. She also can assist senior counsel as a junior in complex trials and with the preparation of criminal appeals.
