Immediately prior to joining the Bar, Sarah worked at the CDPP as a Principal Federal Prosecutor. During her six years at the CDPP, Sarah worked on complex, high profile and sensitive criminal prosecutions; including drug matters, child pornography, money laundering, frauds, and ASIC matters. Sarah appeared as counsel in a variety of matters, including trials and sentences in the Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts, and appeals in the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
Sarah also conducted prosecutions for State offences that were connected with Commonwealth charges, or offences committed at Commonwealth places (such as detention centres, airports and on airplanes) and on Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. These cases involved traffic matters, assaults, sexual assaults, theft and threats to harm/kill.
Prior to joining the CDPP, Sarah worked at AGS for four years, where she had the conduct of a wide range of administrative law, judicial review and civil matters.
