James Clyne

James is an experienced and commercially nuanced advocate, who regularly advises in respect of complex commercial matters including mergers by scheme of arrangement, commercial disputes, regulatory matters and insolvency and reconstruction.

James has represented clients as counsel in numerous jurisdictions including the High Court of Australia, and is experienced in advising clients in relation to Takeovers Panel matters and contested shareholder meetings.

Known for his pragmatic, client-focused approach, James also has experience advising in relation to sports tribunals and is currently a Tribunal Chair for Football West.

Prior to joining the Bar, James was a partner of a large international law firm.
