Jennifer Batrouney QC
Jennifer is a silk practising in taxation, commercial, administrative, superannuation and charity law. She graduated with an honours degree in law and a commerce degree majoring in accounting from the University of Melbourne in 1987. She was a solicitor at Ashurst until she was called to the Bar in 1991. She was appointed a QC in 2000.
Jennifer has had extensive experience in appearing before the High Court, the Federal Court and the superior State Courts. In addition to providing advice to a range of large corporate clients, Jennifer has also been briefed by many State and Federal government entities and has advised some of Australia’s largest charitable, indigenous and academic institutions. She is a director of the Australian Charity Law Association.
Jennifer is President of the Tax Bar Association, a member of the Victorian Bar Council, Honorary Treasurer of the Victorian Bar and a director of the Law Council of Australia. She has been a member of the Law Council’s Business Law Section Tax Committee since 1991 and presently represents the Law Council on the Federal Court Users’ Committee. Jennifer was accredited as a Chartered Tax Adviser by the Tax Institute of Australia on 1 July 2012.
