Professor Nolan Sharkey
Nolan Sharkey is Winthrop Professor of Law at UWA and Professorial Fellow in Taxation at the University of New South Wales. He has been an Australian taxation adviser for two decades as a Chartered Accountant, academic and, most recently, Barrister.
He is a leading expert on Australian international and domestic tax, double tax agreements and tax in China. He has taught University courses in all these areas and developed the first course on Chinese taxation offered in English in 2004.
Nolan’s work has been published in leading journals internationally and cited in the Federal Court. He also has expertise in Singapore’s tax and is an examiner in the subject for the Chartered Institute of Taxation in London. Nolan has an interest in offshore and onshore trust law that complements taxation practice.
