Simon Rogers

Before coming to the Bar, Simon was a Senior Associate in one of Perth’s leading Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety teams. As both advocate and instructing solicitor, he prosecuted and defended contentious disputes for clients in the Federal Court, Supreme Court of Western Australia, Industrial Magistrates Court of Western Australia, and the Fair Work Commission including the contentious approval and termination of enterprise agreements in heavily unionised industries. He specialised in disputes arising from industrial action, enterprise bargaining and related disputes, strategic issues arising from major restructures, and individual employee disputes.

Simon’s clients and expertise spanned a range of industries including the onshore and offshore maritime, construction and oil & gas industries, aviation, banking and finance, general on-site construction, health, higher education, hydrocarbons, mining, transportation, social services, and security industries. He always sought to understand the clients’ operations and commercially desired outcomes to enable efficient and cost effective advice and seeks to maintain this commercially astute focus at the Bar, enabling clients to achieve commercially sound results.
