Shane Stewart
Shane practises in commercial law, corporations law, trade practices, and taxation. His experience includes commercial disputes (litigated and arbitrated), corporate insolvencies, bankruptcies, corporate and securities law issues, equity and trusts, restitution, regulatory investigations and regulatory and public law (in particular, competition, energy and resources and judicial review).
Shane is recognised for his strong technical skills, commercial background and strategic approach. He regularly advises on difficult and complex questions of law. Before coming to the bar, Shane was in private practice at Clifford Chance and Johnson Winter & Slattery, and the Associate to Justice EM Heenan of the Supreme Court. In 2012/13, he worked in Clifford Chance’s London office. He is the Chair of the Commercial Law Committee of the Law Society and a member of the Competition Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council and ASIC WA Regional Liaison Committee.
Shane earned an LL.B. with First Class Honours from Adelaide Law School and an LL.M. from The University of Chicago Law School.
