Thomas Percy KC
Tom Percy was born in Kalgoorlie where his family ran a hotel for many years.
He attended Scotch College and UWA, from where he graduated in 1977. He was admitted to legal practice the following year.
In 1984 he was elected to the WA Bar Association and was appointed King’s Counsel in 1997.
He practices primarily in the area of criminal law, specifically jury trials and superior Court and Tribunal appeals.
In 2007 he was awarded the WA Civil Justice Award by the Australian Lawyers Alliance and in 2006 he received the Community Service Award from the Law Society of WA. In 2013 he was awarded the WA Law Society’s Lawyer of the Year Award.
He is a columnist with The Sunday Times and has a regular morning segment on radio station 1080 6IX. He is also a prominent musician and songwriter, performing regularly around Perth.
In his spare time he likes to go to the football, the races and the cricket. He is a current board member of the WACA and the East Perth Football Club. He is also a long-suffering supporter of the Fremantle Football Club.
