Kelly Zhang
Kelly Zhang accepts briefs on a wide range of matters, with recent deep experience in commercial litigation, especially construction matters. Kelly has acted on matters concerned with insurance claims, class actions, white collar and corporate crime, family property disputes, and wills and estates.
Prior to being called to the bar here, Kelly was a senior associate at Johnson Winter & Slattery. Kelly began her career as a junior barrister at the leading set of chambers in Auckland, New Zealand.
Kelly has an interest in legal work with a human element with much experience in criminal and family law at the New Zealand bar, areas to which she is set to return in Western Australia. Born in Shanghai and raised in New Zealand, Kelly is bilingual in English and Chinese.
Kelly has an interest in pro bono work, having recently completed a strategic litigation secondment at a Sydney based not-for-profit organization. She is happy to work with instructors on pro bono work, especially in the areas of asylum seeker rights and policing and detention.
