Shirley Casey

Shirley is a dedicated barrister with a specialisation in criminal law. Her unwavering commitment to criminal law has been her focus since she was admitted to practice.

Having previously served as a senior associate at a national law firm, Shirley transitioned to a boutique criminal law practice in 2019 before being elected to the bar in 2022. Shirley has extensive experience in criminal law, and she relentlessly champions the rights of her clients.

Shirley’s passion lies in advocacy and jury trials. She has represented clients across the State in Magistrate and District Courts, and more recently, in the Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeal.

Shirley’s practice encompasses a wide range of areas, including handling major State and Commonwealth crime cases. Shirley regularly represents clients charged with violent offending, sexual assaults, and drug matters.

Shirley enjoys mentoring up-and-coming practitioners and is a regular speaker at Legalwise seminars.
